PLANNING & DEVELOPMENT ACT 2000 (AS AMENDED)

NOTICE OF PROPOSED DEVELOPMENT

Pursuant to the requirements of Section 177AE(4)(a) of the Planning and Development Act 2000 (as amended) and the requirements of the Planning and Development Regulations 2001 (as amended), notice is hereby given that Tipperary County Council proposes to seek approval of An Coimisiún Pleanála to carry out the following development at Newport Ball Alley and Park, Clonbealy, Newport, Co. Tipperary.

Newport Ball Alley Footbridge

Location Nature and Extent of Proposed Development

Newport Ball Alley and Park, Clonbealy, Newport, 

Co. Tipperary.

The proposed development consists of the construction of a new Footbridge and resurfacing of existing lane with walkway link to the existing park in the form of new footpaths and all ancillary site works as required to complete the works. 

 

The footprint of the proposed project is within a Special Area of Conservation, namely Lower River Shannon SAC – 002165

ITM : X – 572545 : Y- 662309

A Natura Impact Statement (NIS) has been prepared in respect of the proposed development. An Coimisiún Pleanála may give approval to the application for development with or without conditions or may refuse the application for development.

Plans and particulars of the proposed development together with the Natura Impact Statement will be available for inspection, free of charge, at Nenagh Municipal District Offices, Tipperary County Council, Civic Offices, Limerick Road, Nenagh, Co. Tipperary, E45 A099 between the hours of 9:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday (excluding Public Holidays) for a period from Wednesday 29th October to Friday 12th December 2025. A copy may be purchased at a fee not exceeding the reasonable cost of making a copy. Details of the proposed development are also available online at https://www.tipperarycoco.ie 

Submissions and observations with respect to the proposed development, if carried out, relating to –

  1. the implications of the proposed development for proper planning and sustainable development in the area concerned,
  2. the likely effects on the environment of the proposed development, and
  3. the likely significant effects of the proposed development on a European site, 

may be made in writing within the period specified above to The Secretary, An Coimisiún Pleanála, 64 Marlborough Street, Dublin 1 not later than the 12th December 2025.

An Coimisiún Pleanála may give approval to the application for the development with or without conditions or may refuse the application for development.
